Question dealing with money..

I have about $100 worth of coins that I want to exchange into dollar bills. Where could I do this for free possibly? Even my bank has a surcharge that is ridiculous...
Suggestions?

If you have accounts at the bank and they are going to charge you a surcharge, you need a new bank. I take my change in to my bank periodically and they run it through the change counter, give me the cash and say thank you.

Well, this is off-the-wall what else is new but I once paid for lunch with a roll of dimes at a McDonald's, and they took it to the back of the joint to run the roll through a machine, to verify that there really was five bucks' worth.

I would go there and ask the manager if they would exchange with you, I imagine they'd be happy to have all that lovely change!

Yeah, I've seen those. Unfortunately, they keep something like 7%.

LOL Knot I hate all my local fast food joints, I have actually tried that.
Although Wendy's (My favorite fast food joint) would do that for me.
I would prefer the bank or something close to it, so I can change it into bills and deposit it.

Buy a Hard Drive (80GB/7200/8MB cache) - all other methods of conversion will cost between 7% and 9%.

'Course, you could donate the coins to the Knothead "Kick the Habit" Foundation in Westlake Village, CA.

Bet you get a tax deduction, too. Not to mention a real good friend.

Well I don't pay taxes since I don't work.. I would normally want to donate some cash, but this is going towards me going on a trip somewhere.

Get on the phone and call the banks and credit unions, ask them if they have a coin counter and will they accept unrolled coins.

Open a new account with them and drop the old bank since they don't service you properly.

I suggest concentrating on the Credit Unions as they typically have lower charges on checking, saving and charge less on loans.

Also, they don't have to follow the same red tape as a bank on loan applications.
When you get established, a loan is just a phone call away.
