Even cops get wrongly convicted

If RI had a death penalty and the smuck who really killed this woman never stepped forward, an innocent man would have been executed. I wonder how many times that exact thing has happened to others. Once a prisoner has been executed, there's little motivation for further investigation.

One day a case like this will come along where it's too late to save the innocent person, and that will be the end of the death penalty in the US forever.
