Who else likes foreign music?
Strange topic indeed but I was just thinking about how many other people enjoy music in languages that they dont understand I guess if its not your most used language and you can still understand it then thats fine. This strange thought came to me the other day when I stumbled across this group from Russia called t.A.T.u. Its kinda pop-music which I normally dont like but its got a great dance background beat. Reminds me a little bit of Kylie but only a little. Anyway, the song I heard was in Russian but it was really really good!!! Then I was thinking of how much I like this other french singer Emma Shapplin (I think its french she sings in). That chick has an amazing voice!!! Great background music. And I cant forget my love of Rammstein. Yeah the crazy german pyro's!!!!
I guess there's really no point to this post except to go out and listen to other stuff!!! You'd be sooo amazed at what you'll like even if you dont know WHAT they're saying!
And if anyone else has any suggestions for music then hey Im open. I need to keep my library growing here on my puter

Some Russian Pop too.
I really like Indian Pop, and there is no one like Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn Listen.. Then there is Transglobal Underground. And Natacha Atlas, she rocks! (um... maybe she's singing in Egyptian?? )

Ya Rammstein's awesome
Its not 'foreign' per say, but can't understand a word
I REALLY enjoy listening to Native American music. I grew up going to Pow wow's back inmy hometown every year. Love listening to it
There's one group Stoney Park that I really enjoy but quite difficult to find :/ (for obvious reasons)

Almost all the opera I listen to is in foreign languages: German, Italian, French, Russian and (on occasion) Czech. I also listen to Zydeco (often in Cajun), Klezmer (in Yiddish), and French popular music (Piaf, Montand, Gainsbourg). Most of the Indian and Japanese music I listen to is instrumental (sitar, tabla, koto, shakuhachi) rather than vocal.

Sometimes when I'm in the mood I'll listen to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Ali Akbar Khan. My parents listen to a lot of Piaf, Montand, Gainsbourg etc.. not quite my taste though. I like Italian opera, but that's not foreign really when you live in Europe. Some people mentioned Rammstein, scary is all I can say! Quote: |

| Egyptian is her nationality, she is also half Belgian.
Arabic is the language |

My dad likes Japanese pop music... I listen to foreign techno/house music, but since they aren't singing I don't count that. |

| Well, that's about right: I'm probably in your parents' generation. |
