J.R.R. Tolkien, Happy 111th Birthday
This seems sorta magical in some way.
http://www.msnbc.com/news/854541.asp
Can you imagine what he would say if were able to see his films?

If you are dead you don't celebrate birthdays anymore, AFAIK.
So we can't say Happy Birthday to Prof J.R.R., as he is dead, AFAIK.
Maybe you could have some sort of anniversary celebration, but it can't be a birthday party if he is dead.
IMO, anyway.

LOL Mick
Well, a birthday is merely the anniversary of a birth, no?
I think it would have been more fitting to say it would have been his Eleventy-first birthday.
He kinda looks like he could
be
Bilbo in that pic, eh?
Happy Birthday, J.R.R. Tolkien! And thank you for your tales!
Thanks for the news, Sweet

Marcia's birthday, too (though not her eleventy-first
); she was delighted when I told her.
By the way,
mickwish,
the French for "Happy Birthday" is "
bonne anniversaire
".

No Theo, the French is "bon anniversaire", not "bonne".
(just a detail)
He left us quite a heritage in litterature and role playing games.
