Systems Any words of encouragement?

I am tired.

Tired of not getting a job. Tired of not getting my unemployment ensurance money even tho I have been unemployed for almost three months. Tired of not having any money. Tired of having to borrow money to pay the rent.

The money was supposed to come today. Now It will probably take until the 24th or so before I get any money. I feel really bad. There's no point in anything. I don't have any money to apply for jobs with. I'm selling my car, but that money won't take me far.

I'm on the brink of going for a long walk out into the cold winter and not coming back.

Bad times are bad times, AE. Just don't let bad times take away the good times.

Keep ya chin up mate. At least ya still got your health and a working brain. Jobs will come, maybe slow, but they'll come. I can't say I know much about the job scene in Sweden, but I know that those who persevere get their goals in the end.

So keep your eyes on the good times mate, and don't let the bad times swamp 'em.

Cheers
Mick

Hey, AE, Mick's right. Especially about Perseverance. It is the single most unstoppable force on earth.

Plus, one of my mottoes: Never commit suicide. You have to see what other trouble you can make. Seriously!

Good luck*, it WILL get better if ya persevere!

* LUCK: the phenomenon of Opportunity meeting Readiness.

Hang in there AE.
I've been there (recently) start applying for anything! ANYTHING!
Who knows you may end up starting a new career.
And remember, there is no job too small when we are in this boat.

AE, I echo all the above. I, too, have been there and believe me it all turns out fine in the end. I know its tough going thru it. Remember, the night is the darkest just before dawn.

Good Luck.

I believe I can relate to what you're going through, AE I was out of work for 1.5 years and even now have a crap pay job and still looking, and yes, it gets depressing.

Try to not succumb to it.. easier said than done, I know.. try to force yourself to talk to friends here and in RL, force yourself to get outside and / or get as much exercise as you can to raise your endorphins. It helps.

Post your resume on all the job boards; find some good agents who do more than take up your time but who actively keep you informed of jobs at where you can apply and interview.

It's rough out here, too, so I wish you the best of luck and try, try, try and try harder to keep your spirit up

On a Tree Fallen Across the Road

The tree the tempest with a crash of wood
Throws down in front of us is not bar
Our passage to our journey's end for good,
But just to ask us who we think we are

Insisting always on our own way so.
She likes to halt us in our runner tracks,
And make us get down in a foot of snow
Debating what to do without an ax.

And yet she knows obstruction is in vain:
We will not be put off the final goal
We have it hidden in us to attain,
Not though we have to seize earth by the pole

And, tired of aimless circling in one place,
Steer straight off after something into space.

Well AE,

One thing I learned in life is that it always gets worse before it gets better! And it sounds like you've just hit rock bottom!

Now, it's time to look on the bright side, ya' can only go UP from here!

Women are fickle, if there was anything there, she'll be back!

Now's the time to get off the arse and get going on finding a way out of your situation. Ya' can't tell me that there are NO jobs around and that there is NOTHING that you can do, cuz' I know you're bright! You may have to swallow a little pride and take a job that you think is way below ya' for a little bit, but . . . . . it is a job and it is money!

Now, pep talk is done --

GET OFF THE OL' ARSE AND OPEN YER EYES!! (Remember, we're behind ya' and will be here for ya'!)

Harder

<edit>BTW, I've been there too, and I think it is just a normal part of life! It's a hard battle uphill, and an easy slide downhill! Ya' have to realize, life is an uphill battle that seems to never end. But, you continue to see joy, happiness, and pleasure all the way uphill that you'll never forget! </edit>
