Maine
Is there anyone here from Maine that is using cable internet service?
I will be moving there in the spring and I was wondering if they have any cable service available. If so where abouts?
This could be a determining factor on my choice of location......

What area of Maine you moving to? I have family there.
My Sis lives Standish and she has Adelphia. She says Time-Warner covers the Portland area. I will talk to my Bro as soon as I can catch him and see who he has. He lives in the Biddeford area.

Road Runner covered most of the coastal area and probably covers most of the area. Do some research aty www.dslreports.com to see whats avaliable.
BTW, as a new Maine resident, I must warn you of something....I'm not sure where Lynn is in Maine, but if it's near the Bar Harbor area, do NOT fly Bar Harbor Airlines. Crappiest airline on earth. Makes you want to fly on a DC9 (or whatever those DC planes were that had the huge problem of parts randomly flying off in flight).

Well I have only been there in the Fall and Winter. Although I love cold weather, I have been there several times to go skiing.

We spend about three weeks a year in mid-coast Maine (August and December). That's about all I can handle. Three weeks with neither phone nor TV is fine, but no more than that.

Yeah, since my grandpa lives in the middle of nowhere we don't have nuch of a choice but to use my dad's dial-up service. UGH!! Boy did I miss cable up there! I still wonder how my grandpa lives like that. He has 13 channels! Up there, advanced technology is light bulbs with a wattage of greater than 100, and microwaves (or as a friend up there calls them, "stoves"). So, great, we've got dial-up, newfangled stoves, and 13 channels! Look at what my dad said: Quote: |

I'm not sure where Lynn is in Maine
| Lynn is in Massachusetts but we are heading to (See Above)
You mean Bar Harbor has an airfield (I don't think they call them Airports up there yet)
I've been hunting up there for years and have decided it's truly The Way Life Should Be
I can't wait to get away from this godforsaken state............

Opps. Supid me. Forgot it was ME, not MA. Grrrr.........I had figured you had changed the location beforehand.
It's not in Bar Harbor, but it is on that 'island' on the other side of Acadia.
The coastal area actually has some advanced technology. Yay!
Up noth tho....I dunno. You may be pressed to find stuff there. Worse comes to worse, there's satelite connections, but those have high latency and are horrible for games.
