Would you guys and gals be into....
computers if the internet didnt exist? I dont think I would. I mean I love building them and tinkering and what not and most if not all of my knowledge came from the helpful people around Techimo. What else would there be going on. I have learned soooo much on the net, seen places I had no idea existed and meet people from all over the world. So w/o the net I dont think Id be where I am today. How about you?

Well, I was into computers years ago, but I was pretty much at a loss until I got CompuServe. That was preNet (I mean, it existed, but without easy access unless you were at a university) and the forums just made it so much easier to fix things: downloading drivers, programs, advice. Mosaic, though, just opened my eyes, and things haven't been the same since.

there is no way that there would of never been an internet
but to your question. Yes, I will still be interested in computers if there wasn't the Internet. I would actually make more money since it would be a job that no one would like |

Probably would have stayed away from them, as I mostly bought my first one to play these computer games I was hearing about but not able to see first hand, and being a hardcore console gamer, got me thinking that I needed to visit the other side of the fence.
Funny, still not as much of a computer gamer as a console gamer ( the wife is though ), but I love tinkering with all the other things like animation, etc that I would never be able to do on a console.
No internet? Naw. Computers would be something that "those people" have.

Diffecult question, i had a PC before but at a time i sold it and bought a Playstation because i couldnt play the latest games anymore, then years later i got 1 again purely for internet (it was free build by my oldest bro and was a pentium 233)
Then i started a bit of gaming on it, mainly Counter Strike and unreal, but the speed of it was just too slow and about a year ago i decided to get a new system, it was suppose to be a duron 1 gig with lots of other stuff, 2 weeks before i was gonna buy it my grandfather passed away and left his computer to me, it was a p3 667 128mb of ram a crappy video card which my oldest brother traded for a ati rage fury because it was used by the server so no need for a good video card.
Later i made a very good deal and i got now a athlon 1 gig system, 384 mb of memory 40gig hard drive etc etc.
So basicly i got a pc again for gaming, i think i would have got a pc anyway if i hadnt internet but i do know i wouldnt have used it much.

I like photoshop pretty well, and do some recording on my PC, also digital cameras are worthless without a computer, and also some very cool games. So yeah I'd still be into computers, but I wouldn't know as much about them since there would be no TechIMO

I was into computer well beofre I had the internet or anything like it. I first got into computers with the ole Commordore 64, I mostly played games back then but also did some programming and other stuff. Yep I belive I would still be into computers if there was no internet - look at morrowind, you dont need the internet to play Morrowind (well maybe I do with my current problem)

This will surely come as a complete surprise to nobody, but no, without the Internet, they'd employed as plant stands.
And a good thing, too, as they would then inspire me to get some house plants to put on them.
So at least they're still inspirational! |
