Does anyone want to argue anymore?!
In the last few weeks I've noticed an alarming lack of interest in our members posting anything that, "stirs the pot", so to speak. Are we getting that tame and docile? I'm an old man (58) but I would have thought that most of you young studs had many more thoughts about all manner of things that would probably curl our grandmother's toes. Am I out of my mind here?! All I can say is, "Let's get SPUNKY!". One of these days I'm going to be sent to one of TechIMO's senior citizen's nursing home forums! |

I have to agree with BC, Holidays are crunching times for people and spending more time elsewhere than debates. it goes through phases around here. Be patiences and one will crop up sooner or later. |

Better sooner than later Neo! When you get to my advanced age, a little mental "stirring of the pot" is crucial to staving off senility! An old mind is a terrible thing to waste? |

LOL, Glohworm! Yeah, I like a good argument, too.
Then again, as Brainchild pointed out, the Christmas season does get a hold on people's contrary sides, hahaha!
Stick around, buddy, something will come along (usually out of nowhere, in my experience) that will satisfy us.
Note that I said I like a good argument. I hate fights.
An argument is where people weild their intellects and grind them against everybody else's. Very cool, plus I often walk away with an expanded understanding (of other viewpoints) that wasn't there before! |

Ok, newbie (just kidding, I read your other post)...
Actually, I am brimming with want for political debate, but am trying to lay low for a while and contribute to other areas of the forum instead of spending all my time here. I also just joined a great conservative politics forum where I will be doing a fair amount of debating. Looks pretty cool: www.freerepublic.com

quux,
You are doing well for your friend. I have a next door neighbor whose going to be 80 in March of 2003. He's alone now and constantly talks of his two daughters who don't call him, or see him anymore! Everytime I turn around "BOB" is there! I've been avoiding him as best I can for months, but then I started thinking hard about the whole scenerio! He's a kind, gentle, easy going old geezer, and I really like him alot! So why was I avoiding him? I can talk to him like I couldn't ever talk to my old man! I always walked on "eggshells" with my dad!
He's a veteran from the big war (WWII) and was a door gunner on a B24. I wrote a letter to the White House two months ago asking if they'd be kind enough to send him a birthday card for his 80th birthday in March 2003. I hope this works. |
