K-mart is selling Gold jewelry 70% off...

I put this here cause it's not hardware related. This is for you last minute Christmas shoppers. My wife picked up a gold bracelet for her mother for $75 ..... it was normally priced at nearly $300.

Seems K-mart is posting a $383 Million Loss in the 3rd quarter of this year. I wonder if they are trying to liquidate some high dollar merchandise?

Kmart is known for putting high discounts at this time of the year. At least in these parts they are.

Many kmarts are sufferring from the big box retailers as well like walmart and target.

I did some christmas shopping at Kmart and I was really suprised at how empty thier parking lot was as compared to walmart. My daughter even noticed it and asked how come not many people shop at kmart. Smart little kid so gave her a little econimics lesson that she would understand. and her comment was. Well that not fair!

There is a terrible markup on jewelry. At 70% off they still may be selling this at a profit.

With K-Mart filing for bankruptcy, I am not totally surprised at how cheap you can buy products there. According to a Yahoo news article, depending on how well the chain does, K-Mart may close 200 to 300 stores after the first of the year, if some sort of profit is not made.
