Hey all.

I almost drowned about 15 mins ago and just wanted to check something out.

First i'll explain what happened. Basically I fell asleep in the bath... It was a long night and i wasn't really awake in the first place.

Now, i appear to be ok. I have a pretty heavy head ache and a nasty cough. The thing is a dude in an irc channel said i could get pneunomia if all the water wasn't out of my lungs. I know i'm an irc addict because i had a possible near death experance and the first thing i do is tell people in irc.

Anyone know?!

If you actually did get water in your lungs, he's right, TBC. You need to get checked by a doc if that's the case.

Most time when you get water in your throat, your windpipe closes over and even though you cough and gag you don't get water in your lungs. But if you are drugged, or even heavily fatigued, this may not happen fast enough to stop water getting in your lungs.

Play it safe - see a doc!

Cheers
Mick

I second Gomers remedy-
Youll be fine id say---I grew up in the surf and swimmingpools and have injested gallons aimed toward my stomach and im sure a few gallons were breathed in with no harm--- sand included...
