First off, I cannot fathom how a baseball could be worth $1 million. I guess I just don't understand collectors. But the part that sickens me is this:

A "gang of bandits" attacked this guy just for a baseball? These are the type of moronic scum that keep the Jerry Springers of the world in business. There seems to be no end to them; a bottomless pit of human scum.

Can you imagine if you were at that game with your young son or daughter and that ball just happened to land or bounce near you? How would you feel if this "gang of bandits" trampled your kid while trying to get this stupid baseball?

Well I don't know either, what i'd like to know is how a (estimating original price) a 10dollar baseball get and how in the heck did it get a 1 million price tag from being hit once by a ballplayer?

That in itself its absurd.
IMO the case should have been thrown out of courts as frivioulous and the ball burned to ashes.

Isn't this "Judge" the same loonytoon who just weighed-in with a lengthy diatribe against the 2nd Amendment?

This guy, Popov, got the ball first. Then, a "gang of bandits" set upon the guy and dislodged the ball...dig where McCarthy goes with it:

I propose that Popov would have been able to hold the ball for a very long time--had he not been jumped!

So get a load of this---McCarthy finally comes out of his hole but fails to see his own shadow:

Seems to me he sent a very STRONG message about brute force...i.e.,
Go ahead and jump the guy...you may get some whacked-out judge to award you half of a million-dollar ball!

well, im not a baseball fan, i like NASCAR. but if i were by chance to aquire a free piece of say dale earnhart's car from his last race it would be worth a lot but i would probably sell it for $20. that just shows you how much i value invaluable objects. if they have no practical use, regardless of their history, then they are of no value to me. also, they should have bouncers at games with billy clubs to beat the sh!t outta anyone who acts violently for no reason. just my $.02
