selling linux on ebay?

I have a bunch of new and old linux cd's just laying around and I would like to do something with them. If I downloaded the ISO file and burnt it to a cd am I allowed to re-sell the cd on something like ebay? I just wanted to make sure it was legal before I did it. Thanks

yes you're allowed to.. but don't expect to make more than a dollar... you can buy them from places like linuxiso for like 3 or 4 dollars I believe.

personally, if they're burned i would seriously expect them not to sell. very few people would even have a reason to buy them, epsecially used.

people on dialup may look at them, but originel has a good point with them being used and possiby scratched.
50 cents?

Actually burned linux CD's sell quite well suprisingly enough. There still is quite the demand from the dialup crowd. They want to try linux, but cannot download it and don't feel like dropping $40.

As far as buying it from places, do you think the people buying the CDs from ebay have heard of LinuxISO or other retailers? No, they have not.

I come across a lot of frustrated people who want to try out linux but always have so much trouble downloading it. Either they get disconnected or it is just too slow for them. When I was on 56k I downloaded a LOT of ISO's but not everyone is like me
It would average 25-30 hours per cd :-o
