FIRST TIME FLYER(kind of)

hi everyone. havent been to the library in a week or so. i see the place can get along without me

i m gonna fly for the first time . i did go up in a little three seat plane when i was about 10 years old,and it scared the bejeezus out of me. been avoiding it ever since.

so now i m flying home for xmas. from grand rapids,mi,to milwaukee, and from there to da UP(marquette).

i m a bit nervous.

i love heights. at work i crawl around up in the air every nite.

but am still a bit concerned with riding in a smaller aircraft. and i
WILL be riding in one,tho not as small as the one that i rode in when i was 10.

any suggestions about anything?? keep my barf bag near?? look/dont look out the windows?? keep head down and squeeze eyes shut and pray?<my favorite

am flying home to take some of the strain off my back, which is giving me massive trouble. driving for 8 hours each way would kill my sac-crow-lil-ee-akkk

well, its off to the chiropracter(no. 2-no 1 didnt pan out too well and had to find someone else.)

i ll pop back on the morrow.

later..

brad

Awm, that's just a Puddle Jumper. Try flying International on one of them Boeing 777s.

You will change your opinion about flying.

I used to fly them Puddle Jumpers from Waterloo, Iowa to Podunk, Iowa and they suck big time.

So is it a prop job?!
The only problem with those, is the freakin' things vibrate
You'll be ok.. that little 'puddle' called Lake Michigan shouldnt' worry ya none
How far is the drive from Milwaukee to Marquette?!
That has to be a few hours drive isn't it?
Hope all goes well

Just remember, the cushion for your seat can also be used as a flotation device
Just kidding!!! You'll be fine, I actually like flying.. its great to fly over a city and see all the little dots moving around

Don't worry about it, you'll be fine, flying is the safest (and coolest) form of transportation.

Try not to think about it too much, because the more you do, the more stressed out you might become.

If you're flying Northwest or United, the puddle-jumper will likely be a Beech/Raytheon King Air 350 or 200. It's a very stout aircraft.

You could do it like BA Barracus (of A-Team "fame") he had to be drugged to get onto a plane

HeeeHeee...I remember flying on a King Air up to 'Frisco some years ago. I was late and had to take the very front seat. Still, there was some holdup.

I could hear the mechanic talking to the pilot through his window, and the mechanic says "I'm not real happy about that fuel line, but I'm gonna sign it off, OK?"

"OK" says the pilot, and off we go.

After we reach cruise altitude, the old guy in the next seat motions to me and asks, "Did you hear what that guy said to the pilot?"

When I told him, he turns white as a sheet, and slumps back into his seat in a cold sweat.

I shoulda had mercy on him and just said "Nah..."

LOL, Cadd!

Hey, Brad? Re-read ClubMed's reply, he's absolutely correct. Flying is the safest form of transportation there is, buddy! You'd be WAY more at risk doing that 8-hour drive!

Advice? Well, with your aversion to airflight, I would advise you to not look out the windows. Take an aisle seat.

Also, take a book along. Not that you'll catch up on your reading. but at least you'll have something to focus on, eh?

And BREATHE. Long, grateful breaths. Do it all through the flight, okay?

You'll be home and safe before you know it, buddy!
