This was a bit of a shocker. CE and made the purchases for the computer parts about 40 minutes ago, from Tiger Direct, and NewEgg, and put the charges on my Visa card. I just hung up from a call from Visa Fraud prevention, and I was pleased. They said they called to verify the charges, and told me that the reason they did so, was first, it was an internet purchase, and that they did not match my usual spending patterns!

Now I call that Service!

That can backfire, too. I got a new card before going to London and they froze my card while I was over there. They said they were concerned about foreign charges. I ended up charging everything to my other card. No big deal to me, but they lost out on a ton of charge fees.

Better than mine.

I only got a Visa Gold after a couple of Internet purchases using my original Visa card.

Boy, it's becoming hard to surpise people, isn't it?!?

My wife and I have joint name VISA's, and I bought her something once which the VISA people rang her about to see if it was a valid purchase. Not much of a surprise after that.

But the action on their part is good. Nice to know someone is worried about my money, even if it's only to stop them having to pay me back under their fraud protection scheme.

Cheers
Mick the cynic.

Oh, and
