That caption was on a photo of Pitt in today's Boston Globe This is just another example of the media twisting things around. The ads were pulled because they showed non-Asian models in an Asian society. The Asians felt slighted. Fine, that's their right. But the caption says "Pitt's role...was an insult to Asians." It was not Pitt's "role" that insulted the Asians, it was the theme of the ads.

There is no professionalism in the media. Everything gets twisted.

Media and serious journalism are two completely different things.

One requires money, the other education and honor. The latter is harder to achieve, and so as usual people take up the path of least resistance.

After reading the article I have to agree though, if you are advertising in a certain country and wish to appeal to the people of that country then you should use models from that country. This is a logical thing to do.
