This was interesting, yesterday I got taped for a TV show. It's one of those obscure cable shows called "Celebrity Hobbies" for the Do It Yourself channel on DirecTV. I think that's satellite. Anyway...
They needed a "woodworking expert", but they got me!

Anyway, rocker Eddie Money has this huge sports collection, balls, jerseys, photos, etc. So they wanted to film a segment where a woodworker makes something to hold a football, and in a step-by-step fashion.
So they invaded my garage, lights, cameras, a cute redhead named Tracey as the host, and they kind of interviewed me then filmed me making havoc on the tablesaw and other tools. It took about 6 hours, and they said it went well. Even filmed me doing comments for a whole different show, where another celebrity/woodworker was making a crib, and during HIS sequence, I "pop up" from time to time, making comments and directing the viewer to something he's doing.
It was absolutely fascinating. The producer/director, Kelly, had to keep a journal of what was shot, and how, so that they could change camera positions and re-shoot close-ups, stuff like that. I was amazed, once I realized what she was doing, all at the same time!
It is really weird what happens when they point a camera at you and say "we're rolling!" Tracey would ask a question, and suddenly my brains would all go away, to be replaced by a sort of putty-colored foam...

I thought I surely came off as a wooden idiot, but they said I did well, and even asked if I would be their "woodworking expert" on future shows! TOOOO MUCH!!

It was really fun!
They said the show would air around next April.
