Smallpox vaccination---yes/no?

Our present administration wants us all to submit to this in the near future---
In light of new threats are you into it?
They say if we are all vaccinated we wont be biologically threatened by our "enemys" possible use of smallpox as a mass weapon---the stats are many of us may or could be harmed by the process---what are your thoughts???

I voted yes, because everyone gets it once in thier life. its nice not to have to stay home with kids for over a week while they get over it. So yes i got it for both of my kinds and they have not had it at all.

I think you're thinking about chicken pox NeoStar.

Quite often you don't "get over" smallpox. You die.

with this vaccine, they're saying people WILL get VERY sick.. some will die

The odds are SLIM, but they're still there...
I think they said something like 15 in 1 million will get life threatening sick, and I think 3 in 1 million will die from the vaccine.
It has "side effects" lol
Even given my current work situation,I think I'll pass on vaccines... people get sick from a flu vaccine let alone smallpox lol
I Voted No

Bush is expected to give his vaccination plans for the country on Friday---(he wants us ALL to have it done is his pre-released info)
Smallpox was eradicated in 1978 but the government says there is a risk it will be used in a biological attack by terrorist groups or perhaps Iraq.
Based on the earliest known vaccine technology, the vaccine kills an estimated one or two in every million people who get it and sends at least a dozen more to the hospital with serious illnesses such as encephalitis.

Willing to gamble on being the one or two out of the couple million or more in YOUR town???

I'm not willing to be vaccinated just yet. But if they do indeed want us all to get vaccinated then that worries me a great deal. It doesn't worry me about our government's intentions as much as it does about what information out government knows. I doubt they would be taking this step unless they had some very hardcore information about an attack of this nature being planned against us.

The military and select medical personnel are going to be first. It is said that it may be 2004 for the general population as there are some new vacinnes in the works that may be less chance of a bad reaction.

It would/will be freaky, like something you would see in a movie... If it HAS to be done, though, then I will. only if it REALLY HAS TO BE DONE
