Having a bad day?

When things don't go smoothly it is easy to complain. We may gripe
about how everything is going wrong or get angry about each new problem
that surfaces. But most of the time a good night sleep puts everything
into perceptive and that lousy day is quickly forgotten.

Occasionally though, a person has a really bad day that he will never
forget. On December 4, 2002 Robert Mancillas of San Antonio TX had a
very bad day that I am positive he will never forget.

When 20 year old Robert arrived at his downtown job, his boss fired
him. Upon receiving this sad news he decided to walk over to his
mother's office and inform her of what had just happened. Unfortunately
he would never make it. Around 8:30 in the morning a five story
historical building under renovation collapsed on him. When rescuers
arrived, all they saw was his feet. He was quickly rescued and
transported to a trauma hospital. Robert suffered numerous broken bones,
including a broken back, concussion and other injuries. Robert does not
have any life threatening injuries. In the hospital Robert told his mom
not to worry about him, he is okay.

So next time you hear yourself gripping that everything is going wrong,
ask yourself if you are speaking truth or exaggerating. Then be
thankful that your day is not as bad as the day Robert Mancillas had.
