Snowboard recommendation

My sister-in-law is looking at buying a snowboard and I need recommendations. She is going to be learning, so she needs one she can thrash.

At a local place they have a LTD snowboard, bindings and boots for $250 USD. I know nothing about boards and it's been a while since I bought skis.

Any suggestions? Her instant gratification time is running out.

I have a Nitro carbon-made board, ~5years old and still serves as good as new.

However, I think that the clerk will be able to give the best advice on what to get to a newbie. Just ask him, they're trained for that.
