Kids Is this wrong?

Picture this:

You are a collector of a certain mass produced product. You frequent a store looking for these products often. You know how much they cost and the price never waivers. You buy a case of 12 of these items from said store but the ignorant cashier rings up only one of these items, not the entire case. You notice this gross mistake since the case should cost $140 and instead they charge you $10. If you decide to not say anything, is this theft and does this show a lack of integrity?

End of question.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beginning of my opinion

This happened to someone I know (not even a friend) and they took advantage of the situation. I am trying to tell them that what they did was stealing since they knew of the mistake but let it slide. I likened it to giving a cashier a $5 and they give you change back for a $20. While this was a big corporation that made the mistake, I think it was just as wrong as if they'd gone in and stolen 11 of these collectibles.

I agree with you 100%. Not saying anything is definitely wrong.

In the past they had this problem at sports authority.

the 22 ammo went for .96 cents a box But the UPC matches the one on the Bick of 10 boxes.

I took advantage of this once. But I really knew it was wrong. I pulled the old rationalize it with the big corporation thing. I did not do it again after thinking about it I changed my politics on the whole big business thing..

The change thing you mentioned with getting change for a 20 instead of a five.

That one directly affects the little peoples lives. Basically when they count down at night they will be 15 dollars short. That could be their job.

Both situations are wrong. But the impact is felt much quicker with the latter situation.

The guy took advantage of the cashier's mistake, but it isn't the same as stealing. It's kinda like finding a wallet someone lost and not returning it. While it's wrong, I suppose technically it's not stealing.

I am not convinced. Its not like you packed the carton to fool anyone. The mistake was on the part of the company, its their job to make sure their store runs right.

I have seen people here online, run to an online store to buy something they see for cheap. They order it and then it comes out that the company made a mistake in the pricing. People whine and moan if the comapny cancels their orders, I have seen plenty of people take online advantage of a companies mistake. No different.

No question about it. It is tantamount to shoplifting. I voted Yes.
