spinnin` round and round..

hi everyone. i m still hangin` in south haven. with a major sore back and something else i ve never experienced >VERTIGO (aint that a old jimmy stuart movie??)

i woke up yesterday morning after working nite shift, laid on the floor and started doing some stretching excersises for my back . suddenly the whole room started spinning around, and getting faster by the second. scared the bejezes out of me,thought i was having a stroke!! jumped up and ran for my shoes and coat and got another blast, with the room spinning,(kinda like when i was really really drunk and laid down in bed and the room would spin and then i would throw up ) i freaked and ran downstairs to the lobby. i had no idea what was going on. foiund out its not easy running down stairs that are spinning under meLOL. the owner of the hotel called 911 and those two guys and gave me a quick once over. every time i would tip my head b ack,i would get the spinns. the hotel owner lady gave me a ride to hospital, where i was checked out. they couldnt find any reason for the vertigo, except for a cold which is nearly gone now, that possilby messed up my inner ear.so now i m taking some meds for vertigo along with three others (back pain and depression meds) seems like the older i get,the more prescriptions i gotta take!

has anyone else had a bout with vertigo?? any suggestions?? the med for vertigo, and both the meds for back problems say they may cause drowsiness. ive taken all three this morn and my head feels like its full of cotton

i ll be here(hopefully) till xmas,so i should be able to get to the library every couple of days. there are some really interesting threads since i ve been here last! unfortuantly i can only stay online for a half hour a day

hope all is well with everyone!!

now i m off to the bonecracker!

That sounds like what CE went through not too long ago, it turned out to be an inner ear infection in his case............

did they check your sugar levels? (or lack of it?) That will flip a room upside down for me in a heart beat.
Also here's another weird one.. your TMJ muscle (?) goes from ear to ear over the top of your head. I would get a spin going and then open my mouth and it would quit.. weird..

That said sounds like an inner ear thing.

Both my uncle and my father have experienced inner ear viral infections that caused vertigo. All the doctor did was give them motion sickness type medication to control it that allowed them to function until the infection went away. I couldn't tell you how many times they lost their cookies. All they could do was lie on their back with their eyes closed, if they so much as opened their eyes or moved, up it came. *bleck*
