December 7th

Is there any reason that Saddam decided to make his announcement one day before our cutoff date about his revealing what kinds of weapons of mass destruction he has if any?

Is it just coincidence that it is December 7th? The same date that will live forever in infamy?

December 7th, 1941 we were bombed in Pear Harbour. The Japanese dealt a crippling blow to our Naval forces and ultimately sealed their own fate, leading to our first nuclear confrontation.

I hope it is coincidence.

Saddam believes he can hold off military action with ambivalence. This will put the French and Russians in his corner.

And it's also one heck of a co-incidence that December 7th is the day my sister-in-law was born too!!!

probably a direct reason is that Pearl was and is seen as one of the greatest intelligence failures of US history. Could it be that he is trying to cause another one of those failures?

And Surreal is right- guy is an egomaniac

It's odd how my birthday is on August 6th.. One of the days that an atomic bomb was dropped.

I just heard somewhere that some "bean-counter" estimated that if we're stuck in a postwar Iraq, it'll cost us a whopping $2,000,000,000,000! That's 2000 billion dollars over a ten year period, according to this guy's figures. I don't know about you guys, but I think that's money that could be better spent at home! Let's let cooler heads prevail and let the UN take care of this embicile. His past acts of attrocity will catch up to him eventually. What goes around, comes around.

Well war is expensive. I don't remember the stats, but after building/training just to fly those figther jets is in the millions alone. I forgot the price to fly one bomber per minute, but it's some ridiculous amount.
Can't forget all the other factors of war...
