Thanks for the info Warthog. Canada was a big part on the assult in Normandy. They spelt their blood on the beach with the rest of us. I love Canada, they are a good hardened people who have a democracy to say what is right vs what is wrong....

Everyone up here is taught about the sacrafices made by our forces in the world wars. Particularly the taking of Vimy Ridge on April 9th, 1917, which some say was the day that Canada defined itself as a nation.

All Joking asside, I appreciate the sacrifices canada has made.

The only problem I have with canada is their Imigration policy. I think it is dangerous to both them and to us.

Other than that they are good friends. Now lets take them over and get their oil.

It all depends where you are in Ontario. The Kawarthas and the Muskokas are beautiful.

I haven't read all of it, but did notice a heading about "Immigration and Citizenship Screening."

I think that is a great program. But as I understood it post 911 they were still allowing people with out papers to enter and roam about the country during these requests. By their own admission they said that there were thousands of people un accounted for.

The program sounds nice and perhaps there are some rules which keep this from happening now. But the year post 911 still had big loopholes.

Another pitiful imigration policy is the one we have with ourselves. The US has completely leaky boarders to the south and north. The border to the south is particularily troublesome. literally millions of people cross that border kept in check by a force of a mere 10,000 men.

States and goverment officials openly refuse to assist INS. These same states provide tax payer money to provide assistance to the growing Illegal populations. Schools are not allowed to require proof of imigration status nor citizenship.

There is resistance to even addressing this at the federal level for fear of losing votes. Basically the threat that canada provides us is just Icing on the cake. They are by no means the sole cause of concern.
