What was this parent thinking of?

Apparently children can "wander away" any time they want.

Kids are slippery. My kids have managed to wander off in the store before. I do not see how this is different. From butt level many parents seem alike. One time I saw it happen, I watched my daughter get confused by butt Identification. She started following another man. What was funny was watching her try to grab the strangers hand. Sensing the strangers discompfort I decided to call to her. When the noise did not come from the approximately correct place relating to the hand and butt she was following she nearly jumped out of her skin.

The moral of the story is that kids can wander off real easy so keep you eye on them doubly hard.

The never talk to strangers thing kinda makes the problem worse because what was this child to do. Talk to a stranger and tell them that they had lost their mommy. So the 230 mile journey began. IMHOOC

you bring up a subject that in our present society, makes me very sad, we have isolated children in a world in which the only person from whom they can seek help is a parent. a world in which every other person is a danger,
I am ashamed to say that were I to see a child on the side walk crying, I would hesitate in deciding if I should see if I could be of help to him. when my kids were children this condition did not exist. very sad, a sick society.

I know exactly what you mean alondra and I feel the same way. A little girl (7 or 8) fell off her bike on the sidewalk in front of the neighbors house a few months ago. Big crash and wailing coming from outside. All 5 of us in the house wanted to go help her, but every single one of us was worried about being accused of being a pervert, kidnapper, etc, etc, etc. Very sad indeed.
