T Mobile is what was formerly called VoiceStream. In some places, they use AT&T Wireless infrastructure.

Their network is GSM/GPRS; I presume that you can get a dual mode phone, if necessary.

I got my second cellphone from them because their plans are the best and now they're giving the Motorola V70 free.

Excellent reception even on highways.

Billing and all account management is online so paying is easy.

I walked in and then out. Their coverage map was way too vague for my taste.

Their coverage is like that of nextel's. They are strictly digital. If you are outside a TMobile area or any other compatible GSM/GPRS network in the US, then your phone is about as good as an alarm clock. They have dual mode phones, but just ones that work on international GSM networks as well. But with all their plans, minus special regional ones, you can call to anywhere in the country as long as you're in a TMobile area with no additional costs. It just goes off your minutes.
