mine, although less impressive, took about 5- 7 minutes.. it was done in paint shop pro.

Hey look! My name in lights!

Time spent on mine? I don't know exactly. Somewhere in the neighborhood of a 30 to 60 minutes. I think I spent more time on trying to get all the settings right for a well optimized animated gif than I did actually creating it. I hate the gif format and it's limited color range.
