It seriously rained here for the first time in over a year last night. What was strange was that the sky would light up every so often and there was a large rumbling noise that followed. I seem to recall that as a child in Ohio but the phenomenon escapes me at the moment. The temp dropped below 55. Had to throw a log on the fire. I guess winter has arrived.

I am home for the holidays... 9-15 inches of lake effect snow expected here in Niles today (SW lower MI). 2-3" on the ground already since it started this morning, and the lake effect machine is just warming up. I get to drive home in it too weeeeeeee. I rather enjoy driving in this stuff. However today I have a truck load of furniture to take back to Lansing. Should make it all the more exciting =)

J: Looks like it is snowing pretty good in Kzoo too. Once I get East of there a bit I think I will be ok.
