Kids why is "Hockeytown" in the thanksgiving day parade?

im more baffled than offended. actually im not offended at all, just befuddled. i see the stanely cup on a float with "Hockeytown" all over it draped with red wing paraphenalia(typo?) too. is this just to get hockey more out to the public? in new york no less? maybe because so many people are watching it? is daveleau miffed at me now??

I didnt see what your talking about. Probably cuz I couldnt care less about a parade. However I have no idea why the Red Wings would be any part of a parade other than the fact thats its a Detroit parade and the Wings of course are a local team. But in that respecet why arent the Lions, Tigers, or Pistons in it? Oh wait I can see why the Lions and Tigers wouldnt be in it. The Pistons are doing ok.

Actually, the sad thing is that Detroit is using the title "Hockeytown"!

Warroad, MN has been known as "Hockeytown, U.S.A." internationally for the last 50 years. Unfortunately, no-one thought to copyright it and then Detroit did.

When Detroit pushed the issue with Warroad, several european governments took Warroad's side! I haven't heard the final outcome of the arguement, but if you didn't see the "U.S.A" after the Hockeytown, that may have been the end result.

guess im a little biased considering the parade was NOT in the motor city but in new york. that was the whole point really.
