The Other Fora/Forums

Like many here I too am a member at several tech and not-so-tech fora. Lately, I been spending a little more time at Anandtech as I sell some stuff there as well. It is truly an awesome place from a content point of view. And the visibility you get.

But it's so crowded and fast-paced that it's kinda uncomfortable. If you post on a thread, in 10 minutes its on Page 2.

In four hours its buried.

Deep.

They even have a rule restricting bumping - not for 4 hours.

I do realize that maybe it's too short a time to make a judgement but it's much nicer here.

What do you folks think?

There's no place like this place anywhere near this place so this must be the place.

I am a member at about 15 forums. I find the same things as you at Anandtech. It is much less intimate because of the large crowd. Most of the stuff I have sold int he past was there. I have gotten out of trading and selling hardware since TechIMO was created. The last forum I worked at had a very slow FS/FT board, so I needed a faster paced place to deal.

Don't get me wrong, Anandtech and others are great and I get a lot of info out there. They are just not "home".

So my impressions are more or less right.
