The Best Part Of The Holidays!

Thanksgiving is here, and Christmas is coming soon
I never really liked the commercial part of the holidays. The shopping, pushing shoving, hope I got the right thing/size. The whole hastle is just too much.
And i'm usually the one out at 30 miutes till time to gather shopping, making the whole experiance worse.

But there are parts of the Holidays that are good. tonight I was watching parents as they bring thier little ones to the store to buy the first real christmas tree. And the look onthier faces as they picked out the tree.

People just tend to smile more, and most are in a better mood in general, this is always a nice difference

And then when I got home, I could smell pumpkin pie in the air, one of my niegbors had baked. These are the best things about the Holidays.Other than family and friends of course

What is the best part of the holidays for you?

Family!

I have lived away for so long and this is the first year I have lived close to my mom, brother and two sisters. Simply being able to say thanks for all of us to be together is worth many smiles.

Being at home with the woman I love. This is made more precious after deployments and impending actions.

Double time and an extra day off for working the holiday! (ok i would rather have the day off with pay, but i have to put a positive spin on it somehow.)
