What's the problem? If the people vote 'NO' then it's NO right? (I mean it's peoples choice)
You're not happy with the outcome?

Ah I get what you mean now. I have mixed feelings about this issue.
On the one hand, it is the mark of a truly refined society to take up people who would be wronged in other parts of the world and to to protect them and try to integrate them into it's society.
On the other hand this is not always possible, it doesn't always work and by allowing too many people to enter without a certain degree of control it might harm the protecting nation.
I am one of those people who would vote in favour of granting asylum but with a level of control.

| yes but we have already such a system, and we let them in, help them and then we send them back when their home is secure!

| so that means per day 160 want to come in switzerland but only 10 % can come in!
i think per year 93'000 but they who came in last year are not in the asylum statistics and they are more than 41'500
i think the numbers are correct but i dont like this text!
Clubmed could you try the text to translate (not the whole text just the important things! and tell me if i'm not right!!)

I hate to tell you this, Creatures, but during the Hitler period Switzerland sent a lot of Jewish refugees back to Germany, where most of them died. The current, more liberal policy was partly a result of being ashamed about that. But a sense of shame lasts only just so long.

The shame should only last so long. You must judge people of today by what they do. Not so much by what their ancestors did. All in all a huge minority of the population is comprised of those who did wrong.
Conversely you must keep a weather eye out for the patterns that lead up to the wrong.
