Cruise ship illnesses

Over the last couple weeks I've seen news articles of a few cruise ships with several sick passengers. Wasn't cruise ships supposed to be a terrorist target? Seems I remember something like that coming out not too long after 9/11. Or am I just paranoid?

They prolly just ate too much of the good food served on these cruises and the sea was rocky.

Supposedly there's a virus called Norwalk that's becoming fairly prevalent in the US. It's only natural that it would spread like wildfire throughtout these ships.

A couple of months ago I had a stomach virus that had a five day incubation period followed by two days of hell. I mean I was calling Ralph on the big white phone and it was a lousy connection.

RRRRRAAAAALLLLPPPPHHHHH!!!!!

With such a long incubation period it would be really tough to eradicate it from a ship that changes population every week.

What is worse than that is when you do not know end to treat first.

Yep! To Ralph... O'Rourke...!!!

Many ships I've been aboard have a moldy smell, like they're not properly sanitized. Prolly because space on board your average vessel is at such a premium, the designers cram as much into 'em as possible, making it difficult to get at everything when it's cleaning time.

Also, a large ship is a closed environment, with the need to store water. Many are floating "germ factories".

Maybe I should give 'em some practical housekeeping pointers.
