How/Where to get a passport?

I need to get my passport renewed. I can't get it done through the mail because I was around the age of 9 the last time I got a passport.

Who knows, I may be taking a trip sometime this Summer...
Not sure what will happen, but I like to plan some things out in advance.. Especially knowing our government it'd take them a couple months to get me the passport anyway.

Any ideas?

Thanks GZ3....Oh my... An $85 fee? I thought it was $55.
Oh well, I guess they might as well charge as much as they want.. Without a passport, you're S.O.L.

I believe the $55 fee is when you're under some age (16?)...like a childrens discount thingy.

I guess so Warthog. Bah $85 before I would even get out of the country.

On another note, does anyone have any experience in the post 9/11 world on getting a passport?
Any delays, etc?

If you're a full american citizen with no criminal record you shouldn't have too many problems.

It may take a little bit, but you should be able to get it.
You're also young, so not as much past to investigate.

hehe Thanks vass.. I am a full American/Japanese citizen with no criminal record.
Like you said, not very much to investigate. Good thing grades don't determine if you get a passport or not. ROFL

Mike, latest passport I received was post 9/11. Nothing out of the ordinary really. Some minor delays, but I sent it in December 2001..... with all the Christmas cards etc in the mail, it really didn't surprise me it took a little longer than normal.

I don't see yours being held up unnecessarily.

You could always spend the extra $$ as well and have it expedited if time is a concern for you.
