Hell month over...

Took over two months, actually, but we are now fully, finally, and completely moved as of yesterday.

Now all I gotta do is finish fixing up the old house & sell it, fix up the yard & a few things at the new house, and get my DSL fixed.

Until they come out, dig up the cable, and "condition" it (fix their lousey splicing) there's just too much noise on the line for a reliable DSL connection.

Yet it worked so well when I connected to the SBC registration server, that I pulled out the dial-up modem (like a fool ) & now can rarely get on-line from home.

<---will still be posting from work

Hey, it looks like a perfectly good square knot to me!

Bummer, man, don't know what I'd do without some kind of access at home.

Well, I still have a 33.6 modem on my wife's PC & it works. Slowly.

I'm very grateful for decent, relatively cheap cable. Our dial-up NEVER exceeded 28.8k. Seems to be a neighborhood thing, too. Well, that's south Jersey for you.

Yeah, but at least he doesn't have to re-paint, re-plant, re-tile, etc. the thing...

I expect a thread here soon on some funny exchanges between Cadd and the cable company... I've got half a mind to start making some up, myself!

I'm still on dial-up, though, so you'll have to wait.

Moving stinks, no boubt adout it.

We're still unpacking books after 6 months. We own collectively around 5,000 books and the insurance company won't cover them until we provide an inventory by title. That's taking a while as you might guess.

Glad you're through it, cadd. Hope the DSL folks get you online soon. The cable company here tells me Dec 18th they'll have me hooked up. Of course they told me in June it would be August, so we'll see.

Cadd..Two things you never do. You never leave your wingman and you never pull out your 56k dailup modem!!!!! Luckily, I have an external US Robotics on standby but have yet to use it.
Congrads finishing your move. Kick back and relax.

Ummmm...I've got 2 SCSI cards, A GF3 with a BIG fan, sound card and a NIC. I was just plain out of slots

The backup modem (on the wife's PC) is external BTW. And I got a COM port free. So as soon as she's not looking...
