Of course MB is cool! But the people with lives prefer to call us "band geeks" I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Still doesn't motivate me the slightest bit to quit, I'm just stuck playing the Clarinet. I like my band this year. About 100 members. Middle School was horrible:
6th grade: Had an old band director who was in the army and finally retired. Band didn't exist for about 2 months straight in the middle of the year. Then we got a new band director and...
7th grade: NEW AND IMPROVED band director comes in and whacks us into shape. We end up doing some high school level music and win the Music in the Parks competition when we go to Six Flags America to compete. That band director was the best. He was not only good, but he was a good friend. We went to his wedding at the end of the year when he had to leave us because he got a WAY better position directing at a HS.
8th grade: After my 7th grade director left, a NEW AND SUCKY band sirector who, well, SUCKED!! He was so incompetent. He probably didn't even deserve to teach in Elementary Schools

he was a vegetarian and was really wierd. He claimed that ever since he changed his diet to veggies, he had so much more energy. If only he could see himself: The guy was thinner than a rail, pasty, pale, and generally very whimpy. Gosh he really needed a steak. How the heck does he get iron and proitein into his diet? He also never eats dairy because he claims they put artificial growth hormones in cows that cause cancer or something BOGUS like that. I felt sorry for him. Anyway, he was a horrible band director. He couldn't fix anything. I could have done a better job than him! So, the band went downhill, and everybody except for the hardcore people like me quit. He quit at the end of the year after some warning to the extent of "quit or be fired".
The future of my MS: New band director that everyone says is doing a better job. It's a real chame because it'll take the band a few years to completely heal from my 8th grade Band Director. So, my MS had 4 BAND DIRECTORS 4 YEARS IN A ROW!! Sad, eh?
9th grade: Awesome band. Awesome band director. Marching Band is great. We do good music. We're going to Disney World in the spring. 'nuff said. I love it.
Well, that was a waste of time, but there you have it!!
