Anyway. I'm not here to start an argument about this. I just ask you all to put yourselves in my shoes. If you hear and see negative views and comments about your own religion every single day of the year, pretty soon you too will become quite edgy. Whether it's a poor joke or a mean comment.

Sorry Club, but I don't see too much of anything offensive in here. We aren't bashing muslims, we're bashing extremist muslims. Okay, so the WWMD was offensive. Sorry....
I agree that the protests are pretty bad. IMHO, Ms. World pagents are better than Supermodel catwalk shows though.

yeah, i think the point of this topic was that any extremist religious groups are stupid.
in this particular case, they were muslims. but there are plenty of news stories about wacko Christians sects, etc.
i think you need to take a deep breath and ease up a little...

It's the same way down here in the south. IMO, just wanted to make that point, some of the Baptist off shoots are just as extreme but in a peaceful and harmless way so they don't get noticed and wind up in the newspapers.

...and just as an example, here's right-wing French Christians going a bit nuts over a perceived insult to their deity. (I admit there haven't been any fatalities so far.)
