anybody know GT Pickett?

A friend of mine has a painting done by GT Pickett. She wants to know if the painting is worth hanging on to.

In short... does anyone know GT Pickett the painter??

You asked Ironforge about your painting that is signed in the lower left side of the painting, usually with a cap "G" and a "T" with a longer tail. Mr. Pickett and my Mother Marge were close friends and shared many conversations. Marge still has some of his painting that he gave her spread around in her children's homes in the USA. I have one of them a large landscape of a Connecticut fall with a beautiful brook running through the painting. If you are still interested more about the artist? I will contact my mother and have her give me the 4-1-1 on George. About what the painting are worth? Don't know we got all ours for free. This I do know George started painting at a much older age probably for therapeutic value. My mother is quite old now so I'm guessing Mr. Pickett is long gone now.

We purchased a painting of Jenny lake from Mr Pickett in the Costa mesa mall in 1968. We have hung it in every home we have been in since. I was always curious who he was. he actually came to our house and hung the painting after we purchased It. Any information about him would be appreciated.
