What program are you using to import the scans when you do them?

Since you have it you should be using PS. Just goto FILE / IMPORT / and your scanner should be listed there along with any other twain devices.

You usually want to scan at a minimum of 300dpi up to maybe 600dpi. Then you can use PS to scale it down to whatever size you want it to be.

That's cool. But if you wanted to you could probably nuke the HP software. I don't mess with any of the software that came with my scanner. No need for it. And no need for it to be loading anything at startup. You might want to check for that.

As long as it's a twain device, which all scanners have been for many years, then you don't need anything but the basic drivers installed. PS and other image software already know how to use the device.

It's really not a big deal either way, just telling ya how I do it on my system. I prefer not to even deal with the (usually) cheesy & unnecessary scanner software.

Terrific photo! Someday I'll get a scanner--when, who knows?

Where were you when you took this picture?

Great photo!

I second PS as the scanner software...all of my photos end up there anyway, so I may as well let PS do everything.
