Flayed Human Corpse Show Plans Public Autopsy

I wouldnt be able to watch without spewing my lunch all over the floor but I was wondering - who would like to see this so I decieded to ask.

The German doctor behind a controversial exhibition of flayed human corpses said on Wednesday he was planning to perform Britain's first public autopsy in 170 years.

I'm not very squeamish, and there's a lot to learn. My only worry is that this particular autopsy is more for publicity than for education.

I would probably lose my lunch but my personal view is just that personal. Just because I feel something is nasty does not mean that it should not happen.

Go head and slice and dice. Now if we were talking about doing this just for some sleezy reason like dismembering a cat with a lawnmower I think we all could agree that might be wrong.

But just because someone finds something Icky does not mean it is not valid.

I seem to remember this some months back...someone here posted a link to a website that had pictures of this exhibit. The people who were attending the exhibition certainly had no problem with it, although if I recall their eyes sure looked funny.

But yes, it's like an art show, only instead of sculpture, there are multiple actual preserved human bodies, in various stages of dissection. I cannot understand why anyone would willingly donate their bodies to such a thing...not that I'm against the exhibition, not at all. But I just can't help but wonder, what if you ran into someone you had known in life?

Brrrrrrrr....

I think it would be a very interesting experience. I enjoyed disecting a fetal pig in 10th grade...I'm not too squeamish I guess.

I've been to it, and it's great, a very good learning experience, I found it to be amazing, I have never seen the human body displayed like that. I urge anyone who is open minded to go if they can. you won't regret it.

Past Techimo thread about this

They have actually shown some footage of autopsy procedures on the Discovery Channel before...nothing extreme of course, but a graphical overview that was for certain.
