Outdoors Here we go again

Once again some collection of idiots places the blame on the wrong person. What if this kid had used a knife? Would they be suing the company that made the knife? Where does it end?

Baseball bats have killed thousands of people.

There is no end to the this in sight. We live in a society with out personal responsibility. Where blame falls on the deepest pockets. The gun did exactly as it was designed to do. It did not fail and it has adequate warnings in it's packaging. If the gun was sitting in dads drawer and jumped into the backpack and then jumped out and shot the teacher I think you would have a case. The closest possible liabilities would fall with the Kid and the parents who allowed the kid to access the firearm. Beyond that the guns function is more of a testamonial than a defect.

Here's your "smoking gun" right here:
Quote:
Attorney Bob Montgomery, known for successfully spearheading the state's efforts to sue Big Tobacco for $11.3 billion, said he hoped the gun case would achieve the same crippling results against the gun industry.
We are witnessing a new type of civil "law" here. This involves bringing the force of law to types of businesses that some people don't like.

Where will it all end, M_Six? (i know your question is rhetorical, but here goes, anyway

When there's no more money to be extracted from the public (which makes up commerce), and we are all safely snuggled into straitjackets!

Or until we take Shakespeare's advice re: lawyers!

Cap the lawyers. make the lawyer pay for bringing frivolous lawsuits and pay heavy. Lawyers are a required evil but they need to be reigned in. You should not become a multi-millionair for bringing one frivolous lawsuit like coffee lady, clapper lady, or any number of stupid people who should have heeded to obvious warning norms. You simply should not load a gun point the gun at something you do not want to destroy. Three actions were required there at least that the manufacturer had no control over. Load - Point - and shoot. Other than that the gun worked perfectly.

Looking at that little piece of crap hand gun, it doesn't look like it serves much of a purpose other than "bustin' caps". Of couse it did what it was designed to do. It was designed to be affordable for thugs so they could kill innocent people. Worked perfectly.

Actually, they should have sued the company that made the bullets...that was the real killer, the gun just was used for transport and initialaztion of the firing mechanism.
What abouit the drunk kid that steals a car and kills someone. We need to after the car maufacturer, the spark plug company, the tire makers, the gas and oil industry, the alcohal providers and the cops for not preventing the crime.
The kid did it and he only should be the one to pay the price.
This is pure BS IMO.
