Oh, I'm probably gonna be shot for this but I know I have at least one ally in Sanman

.
I'm leaving for Homestead in the morning to see Tony (hopefully) clinch the Championship. Out of all the races I go to, this is the most deserved (computer customer support burnout syndrome

).
I missed Bobby's Championship at Homestead 2 years ago (I'm a BIG Bobby and Tony fan) 'cuz I was stuck in NY. Not this time. If Tony finished 30 or above and Martin 13th or below...........it's Tony's trophy

.
Now I relize that there are a whole lot of people that don't like Tony for whatever thier reasons may be but let's be real. Here's the Tony statistics thus far in his career:
1. Midget Championship
2. USAC Championship
3. Sprint Championship (Gordo never got that - not that I'm anti-Gordon)
The above three are considered the Triple Crown - nobody else ever did that

.
4. IRL Championship
5. '99 Winston Cup Rookie of the Year (4th in the points race)
6. Worth mentioning that in the only year Tony ran the Busch series, 2nd in pionts to Jr.
Also note that few drivers have ever run both the Indy 500 and go on the same day to run the Coca Cola 600. Tony has done it twice and if memory serves me, it was something like placing 4th/11th and 2nd/9th (respectively). That folks is 1100 miles in one day!
Now for the non-Tony fans, take 'er easy

. Yep, the guy has a hot head (as I can well relate to

). Here's some
linkage to an interview with AJ Foyt from the other day. What is funny is mid-way down the page there's a box listing his fines / probation this year. He may not be a "people person" (nor am I

) but y'all gotta admit, he can drive the wheels of a race car (as I can build a computer

).
Just had to post.....
Go Tony, Go!
BTW, look for me - I'm the one wearing the hat

.
