I am getting Tonsil surgery soon.

I am getting my tonsils yanked on the 19th of Nov.

I have to get them out because they are always inflamed and makes it hard for me to breath.

Now I am 31 years old and I heard that it can become a very bad experience for recovery from the surgery. I have booked 2 weeks off from work (thank god for sick time) and I don't expect to be eating solid food for at least 7 days.

I've heard of people going back to the emergency room because their stiches bleed and what not...

Anyone had theirs yanked out and can tell about it?

I dont have tonsil experience and dont want any. Good luck. At least your typing skills will not diminish. Eat alot of Ice Cream and get well soon.

Yer not gonna wanna read this as there is nothing positive about it---

EXCEPT MY TONSILS ARE GONE FOREVER!!!

Hope it goes better then mine (im sure it will)--- I was having chronic tonsilitus and am antibiotic allergic, prior to havin em removed I was airlifted from a ship I was working aboard off the coast of Chile being stricken so bad and ended up in a San Fran hospitol havin em removed, I didnt have to worry about stitches as they snared em with a wire loop and cauterized em off---it burned the surface shut as they closed the noose wackin/burning em off---did it while I was awake with a local anesthetic---I spent 2 unreal weeks in the hospitol afterwards due to the threat of bleeding from such a large area (adult tonsils are much larger then when we were kids) see? told ya you wouldnt wanna hear about it...

Hope it goes well and a different method is used...

Turkey dinner for Thanksgiving will be replaced by ugggg---jello...

May god have mercy on your soul.

I apologize for not being able to put a positive spin on it, other than being able to look back a year from now and be appreciative of the fact that you aren't having problems anymore.

I can think of about 1000 other things I would rather have done, though.. *shudder*

Tonsils. Pleh. No big deal. You're better off without the infection-gathering-little pus-bags. PLEH!

You WILL, however, be surprised at the throat pain. Swallowing. GAAH! But it goes away in a day or so, no big deal.

You'll be fine in a few days. IMHO, make some plans for that second week, since you have the time off. ya know?
