ND turned things around in one season by hiring a good coach. MSU should be OK with the right guy. They basically have a good team now, just no discipline. Bobby considered himself a "player's coach". They don't need a buddy. They need a leader. I just feel bad for Smoker and Moss. Yeah, it was their decision, but under a good leader they would have maybe stayed out of trouble, and both would have had great NFL careers.

Another one that really got hurt over this is Rogers. If State were still ranked and Smoker was as good or better than he was last year Rogers would still be a leading contender for the Heisman, especially now that Miami is sliding in the polls.
