Ali was identified as the one in the vehicle by a mark on his leg, which was blown off in the blast and was found near the scene.

He said Ali, who has been on the run

Guess he won't be doing much running now.
Nice to see there are a few less terrorists in the world.

Of course they were "suspected", that's our press at work for ya. Nobody is ever confirmed of being anything until after they have been convicted in a trial. Sometimes trials aren't possible or even needed. What do you expect, for us to send him a nice telegram saying "Would you please come here to the US so we could give a fair trial?"
Not only are actions like this sometimes necessary, but don't forget if there's any specific terrorists we are at war with, it's Al Queda. All's fair in love and yadda, yadda, yadda.

That's why I underlined suspected, it looks silly in this context. I wonder if these writers actually think about how their reports turn out depending on their usage of certain words.

agreed. you don't get on the suspected terrorist list by being friendly and selling girl scout cookies. Chances are pretty darn good that if you're on that list, you're a terrorist who's done terroristy things.
And you're right Out, they aren't given the right to a trial. This is war. A war against all terrorists and against those who harbor terrorists. These are not humans we are dealing with - they are mass murderers. And whether or not anyone thinks their cause is just, the means they use are unjust and cruel, and it will indeed be an historic day when the last terrorist is wiped clean from the face of the earth.
Those who intentionally target and kill innocent civilians to further their cause beware! Prepare your apologetic speech to Allah for perverting the Muslim religion! (or to whomever you happen to meet after a US made rocket propels you from this plane of existence...)
In short, GO US! Wohooo!

BC,
If we happened to capture them, or if they gave themselves up, then sure they'd get a trial.
But if you expect us to put our boys lives at risk to insure some terrorist gets a trial that is usually guaranteed to US citizens under the US Constitution, then I'd have to wonder which one of the Fantasy Islands do you live on?

And to cyphen, don't make the mistake of thinking these individuals aren't human. They are indeed very human. That's exactly what makes them so dangerous.
