Help me if you will.....
I have an on-going arguement, debate Uuhatever, uuith a friend of mine,
The recent release of the game earth and beyond, from Electronic Arts. has 3 main species or races to choose from.
Progen, Terran and Jenquai....
Now, the arguement is,
I say that the progen, when spoken, in the term, "I am progen", should be said "I am progenian".
Plus for the others, "Terranese" and more imprtantly, "Jenquian"
An American, says, "I am American" and not "I am America"
so would this go for, our outwardly bound futuristic counterparts.
Please feel free, to help me, or for the childs in our midst, tell me to either,
(A) Get a life
(B) Who cares.
or
(C) **** off.....
Thank Q.
No UU's today.

An American says he/she is 'an American' because they are from America, that being said, because they are 'from' America they are part of America, in which case if they say 'I am America'!this is also correct!
Do you get my drift.............

I kind of take your point, but at the same time, a human doesn't say: 'I am a humanan.'
Taken a little further, Terrans come from Terra, so 'I am Terran' is perfectly all right.

Taken even further, lets ignore the terrans for a moment, Jenquai, The reason we say , American or Australian, I suppose , to make it prenouncable to the english language.
So would you say, Jenqain is plausable.
just to re-iliterate, Hu-MAN - Te-RRAN . Theres a slight difference.
That's as difference where I am from.

It depends on what slang the guy has. Just like the make barbarians look stupid and them talking like cave men, like "Me mighty man, you whimpy man." And then how they make modern man look more intellegent by having proper grammar.
bu my answer is
C to the argument, B is what people think of my reply anyways and A since you don't hear people say peeps from Canada say "I am Canadianon" instead of Canadian.
I think that Progen is the right way of saying it because it ends with an end. now if it was Proge, then it would best to say Progren. Now if he was from a Progen clan, then he could say something like. "I am from a Progenian Clan"
know what i mena?

| Actually, Yes I do know what you mean, my fair and humble, homosapian.
Alas,
People don't say "I am canada" , So people from "Progen" do not say, "I am Progen" , they would say "I am Progenian" , Or Maybe, " I am Progenese". "I am Jenquai" , "I am Jenquian" .
A bit like (Well not really)
Tom-ay-To
Tom-ar-To
It's all to do with adjectives, nouns and pronunciation, in the english language.
I deem not say I am wrong, Likewise, Discussion, Is.....My..........Main........Mandatory.......... ...Pinnacled...................Ssssssssssssskillll lllllllllllllllllllllllll...............
It is so scary, it is almost unbleivable.........

Progen, Terran and Jenquai.... | We're talking about races/species, not the names of places, right? I think the names of the races (and the name of a race is always a noun that can be used as an adjective as is) would plug into a sentence such as this:
I am of the _________ race.
Which would be the equivalent of saying:
I am _______.
In other words, I think think you're going backwards. 'I am American' = 'I am Progen.' The question is actually this:
American = Progen
America = ???
Progen people are not form 'Progen,' just as the Terran people aren't from 'Terran.'
Progen people would say 'I am Progen.'
