New way to annoy telemarketing idiots

Let me just say that I hate telemarketing. Hate, hate, hate with a purple passion those annoying calls during dinner, peime time and just about any time I don't want an unsolicited unwanted call regarding an unwanted product or service that is of no use to me...

OK, now that that is off my mind...

Note the method at the bottom of the article. That now only stops that one call, but removes your number from that database! Next time that that database is sold (about every two seconds it seems) your number won't be included!

I am just having to much fun thinking about all the call centers going blank, operators sitting around waiting impatiently for just one phone to answer... It makes me all tingly inside...

Heehee, when I lived in Fl I sold headsets for a living..
So needless to say I wanted to know who they worked for and where the call center was.. a contact etc.. LOL It works too

I like talking to telemarkerters, I mess with them in so many ways.. Sometimes I just tell my little brother (He's going to turn 4 in January) to answer the phone on speakerphone. Normally if the telemarketer is getting angry talking to him I just hang up.

I LIKE U-96s' answer better. After the telemarketer has wasted 10-12 minutes of his time talking to you - he gets yelled at by his supervisor for not making a sale. If they want to waste my free time I can certainly waste the time they are supposed to be using to get customers to buy their product. After all the fewer calls they are able to make a sale on, the higher the costs of running the telemarket center.

The "Great State" of Ga. expects us to pay to keep our phone number from "getting listed" for businesses to call. I wont pay ANYTHING to keep these jackals from calling my number, I just keep them on line as long as I can and then I tell them to remove me from their list. Seems like I get less that 1 call every 2 weeks these days. That isnt nearly as good as I want it but its a lot less that what it was.

The latest excuse they seem to be claiming is that they cant remove me from their list in less that 2 weeks and I may be called again. I tell them that the federal law hasnt changed and if they call back they can certainly take their excuse to the judge and explain it to him. So far I havent had any call backs tho.

over and over again..... but mostly - if the caller ID says 'unknown' - I don't pick up.

Here in Missouri I am able to register through the MO Attorney General's office to get on Mo's "No-Call" list. It is updated quarterly, you can register online, or by 800 #. I get almost no calls. I've had maybe 2 or 3 since registering. The ones I have gotten I got their name , #, location , like I would do business with them. Then I called the MO No Call complaint line, passed on the info. In about 2-3 weeks I get a little card that says that company has ceased calling in MO and if I DO get a call to let them know. They have collected some pretty hefty fines from telemarketers I think.Check this link out.No Call

I overheard my dad talking with a telemarketer. They obviously asked him how he was and he said "Not good". A few seconds later he said "My wife just died". A few seconds later he said "No, she's lying right here". A few more seconds "I don't know what to do with the body". This went on for about 5 minutes. When he hung up he just went back to watching tv and didn't say anything about it.
