korgul is on a distinguished road

After seeing Dr.Aboo's thread about frank. I remembered that I had never posted pics of my pet. So here she is velvet.

Sorry for the bad pic but the camera we have is very cheap, and the 9 year old was taking the picture.
She is a carpet python, she is yellow and black and looks like velvet ( hence the name ) in certin light. She is around 5 1/2 ft long and eats about 4 large ( white, she is picky ) mice every 10 days or so.

I will try to get more once I get a better camera.

I think I have a big problem with my viewing pics here. I thought I'd see a sweet ssnake, but my resolution only gave me something like a velaceraptor skeleton....

guess the only thing I'm gonna say on this is that "snake are people too.."

BE SAFE!!!!!

Hi Korgul and Velvet. Nice to meet you.

Cool snake, do you keep her in a large cage or a room? I had a friend once whose snake had his own room lol

Socal - no she is kept in a cage. It is a large tank, not sure of the size of it though. I have plans on turning a portion of the step landing into a cage for her. It is about 1 1/2 foot deep, 5 foot wide, and about 8 1/2 foot tall. It has metal railing in it that she can climb. I want to enclose it all in plexi so you can see her from all sides. I will also put some tree branches in it for her. She lives in the trees in her native habitat and it shows. I was holding her yesterday and decided to see what she would do if I put her in her future home. She went right to the top and would not come down. It took the wife and I 30 min just to get her out of there so we could put her in her cage.

We did have a room at one time that had about 5 snakes in it. The largest being a male albino burmese python. He was 14' 8" at last measurement. He had a companion that was just under 10'. The male had a cage that was a whole sheet of plywood on top and bottom and was about 4 ft high. We have since gotten rid of all of them except this one. She is very pretty in the right light.
