MS butterflies taking over the WORLD!!

HAHAAH,
This is real funny... http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/interne....ap/index.html
Quote:
Microsoft Corp. apologized to New York City for blanketing public property with hundreds of butterfly decals used to promote the company's new MSN 8 Internet service.
They should be responsible for putting it all over the internet too, I've been seeing it everywhere... even on TV...
Not only is the ad lame its extremely CHEEEEEEEEEESY!

Baah look at this :
Quote:
Microsoft received a single $50 summons, although it could have been fined for each decal.
I woulda said fine them $1 billion for each butterfly... that woulda got NYC outta debt !

I've only seen one TV ad and haven't seen any of the online ads.

Sounds like someone needs an industrial size can of Raid!

The move was calculated. Either Microsoft or its advertising agency should be fined for EACH violation and BILLED for the cost of the removal. IBM pulled this same "I'm sorry!" stunt a couple years ago or so. The news coverage is worth a bunch in free advertising.

The cost should be such as to deter the next, "Oh, I'm sorry!"

I'm with Ray

If you are a voter in the NYC area, make your choice. Boot those M$ boot lickers out of there!

As for the free news coverage, have you noticed how much space is devoted to the launch of the new M$N, and how little to the fact that the company has admitted guilt in defiling NYC?

Wonder how much it will take for the news to give M$ any bad press. Insider trading, anti-trust, violating court orders, illegal use of customer info... The list just goes on, but all the news stories start and focus on "M$ the leader in computers...".

I know that this thread is intended to be lite and humor, so...

"Today NASA anounced the first contact with new life: A corporate board of directors held accountable for thier actions. More at six on action news..."
