Strange email...

This is, I think, the most bizarre email I've ever received. Doesn't seem to be spam nor does it seem to be part of a mass mailing of any type. Doesn't seem to be selling anything. No links in it.

Those who want to leave for the Netherlands to carry on any kind of education, including for PhD, must be careful. Especially the University of Groningen (RUG) should be avoided. This University was once a good one but now it has lost its reputation. For example, you can not find accommodation, the university fees are too high, and the education is bad. Not to forget the bad treatment strangers get from most of the Dutch people. As they deceived us by their sweet words we have the moral obligation to warn you. We have made a big mistake by coming to Groningen so do not let them take advantage of you. For the same amount of money you have to spend in Groningen University you can get much better education in a famous university such as Oxford, Cambridge or even Harvard University. Besides they will treat you nicely and give you the feelings that you are welcome. Studying is a good investment in time and money. So invest in the right place and time. You are warned.

I deny all knowledge! Must be those crude Northern people, we in South-Holland are very nice and friendly people.

But seriously, I don't know the reputation of the University of Groningen, but universities like Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard are probably better. Not to mention that fact that you Americans will have an easier time studying in the UK, seeing as the British speak the same language. Well, pretty close to it, anyway.

Btw, I heard Americans get treated better in Europe if they pretend to be Canadian. Might be a good tip for Americans planning to come over sometime. Don't forget to say "eh" every sentence or two, though.

OuT - if you have an easily mistakable email adress(i.e. somthing with numbers in it: you'res could be ObiOne1337 and they ment to type ObiOne1336(you get the idea)) it could have been by accdent.

I keep getting odd emails from some fellow that apparently is at the head of an organization for media types in Canada. I replied to one and he apologized and said he didn't understand how that happened. There are only like 5 recipients on these emails and they are from him as an individual. I still get them.

Maybe they need me.
