Sniper case seems solid

Well, they connected the young guy with the AL shooting.
The gun in the car matched ballistically to the 11 sniper victims.
The car was rigged with a hole in the back for concealed shooting with a bi-pod and "sniper stand".

It looks like they got their man. Am I relieved.

A little Muhammad history I caught from CNN today (I was forced to watch it at the gym today...ugh...)
He was in the National Guard (in LA?) and was given a dishonorable discharge for disobeying a direct order and striking a fellow NCO.
He joined the US Army and had a non-descript enlistment. No sniper training, but he was trained on an M-16 and scored expert (not uncommon and not anything like a sniper's training)
He converted to Islam and became Muhammad (his last name as Williams until this point)
Until this point, he seems to be happily married, but something happened and he became abusive and he and his wife split. She got custody of the boy.
He "kidnaps" the boy several months ago.
He goes on his shooting spree in MD (his ex-wife lives in MD)

He has no formal ties to Al Qaeda as far as can be seen thusfar, but he was sympathetic towards the 9/11 hijackers.

Wonder if the boy will get a break like Patty Hearst did...

If the sniper supposedly used the "fire port" in the trunk, how did law enforcement get ahold of the shell casings for each killing?

Oh and who called the police to tell them to investigate the shooting in Baltimore?.

And who told them to say "We caught the sniper like a duck in a noose"?

The only thing solid here are the unanswered questions.

Honestly, when I heard the duck in a noose comment, I thought it was a signal to others like him to begin work on similar projects. I thought it was very poor judgement (looking from the outside in) to do this. Kind of like what those Bin Laden and #2 tapes did. They triggered 4 (at least) attacks by their terror groups around the world.

The fire port was one of the ways of fire. The choice of location for the shooting was situation dependent. Thay say that he fired from the woods as well as from the car. Not real difficult to explain.

I'm glad they fianally got the SOB. Lets just hope no one else has to die from copycats and so on
